Five Products & Five Minute Makeup

five minute makeup

If there’s ever a time to show off your very best no makeup makeup look, it’s a bank holiday weekend. Taking just five of my trusty makeup picks and allocating five minutes (because time is better spent relaxing on a precious bank holiday), I’ve got this off-duty glam look down.

When I want something soft and low-key base wise, I do tend to reach for the It Cosmetics CC cream; it’s light, has decent coverage and makes skin look dewy. The texture is nicely blendable too, so it takes barely any time. I like the Nars soft matte concealer because it can be used on the whole face and adds coverage where needed. I tend to reach for creamy concealers on a daily basis but something like this works so much better when you’re in a rush or can’t be bothered to do an elaborate makeup routine.

I’ve featured this so many times, but the bronze & glow really is a lovely product to use. The bronzer is the perfect shade to dust all over the complexion and fake some cheekbones. Lately I’ve been loving using this absolutely everywhere; cheekbones, down the neck and on the eyes to add some warmth. It works well as a base under my beloved Stila glitter shadows but also on its own for an eyeshadow look in about five seconds. I just use a MAC 224 and brush it over the lid – done! Always need a generous coat of mascara, and at the moment I’m loyal to the L’oreal Paradise mascara (see it in action here).

Finishing everything off, a slick of the Glossier balm dotcom is basically all you need. I am desperate to try the other scents but for now this one is getting plenty of use. It’s moisturising, non-sticky and leaves lips looking a little bit polished. I need this with me at all times but especially when I’m after a low-key makeup look.

What are you up to this bank holiday?
