Two New Skin Perfectors

It’s all about the base – I love anything to do with creating a flawless complexion; whether that’s a great new serum, the creamiest concealer or a setting spray that locks everything into place. Basically, anything that promises to temporarily act as a skin perfector piques my interest! I’ve got two new products that I’ve thrown into the daily makeup mix, that are working pretty nicely together.

The Too Faced Hangover 3-in-1 Spray

I was very excited about this new launch because Too faced does beautiful bases – I love their Born This Way foundation and concealer (they have a powder coming soon too, yay!), along with the Hangover primer. They just do bases really nicely. I’m also a huge fan of setting sprays, so this was a no brainer for me. This mist has been designed to work in a similar way to the primer in that it can hydrate the skin at any time. Sadly it doesn’t smell quite as delicious as the primer! It can be used to prime skin before makeup, to set makeup and also to refresh skin throughout the day. Anything that cools and hydrates the skin is a winner, as my skin leans on the dry side so added moisture is always welcome. This is a fine mist as well so it does work nicely at refreshing makeup throughout the day – the bottle is a little bulky for handbag use so I am going to need a travel size.

REN Perfect Canvas

Another new skin perfector containing probiotics is the REN Perfect Canvas – it’s a highly sophisticated serum-primer for the skin. It’s silicone free (yay!) so doesn’t feel heavy or greasy in the slightest; it’s a primer designed to restore balance in the skin and make the perfect canvas for makeup application. The solution comes in a pipette, and the formula is fairly fluid in texture. I’ve been applying three drops and massaging into the skin as the final point of my skincare routine. It manages to leave the skin nicely mattified but not drying in the slightest – I imagine this would be fantastic for combination skin types. On me, it does leave skin looking a little blurred but the best would be how unified it makes the complexion look – definitely leaves everything smooth and even underneath makeup. The texture is light and it also goes slightly tacky which allows foundation to apply nicely. Also very exciting that REN are making more steps towards skincare/makeup hybrids as their skincare is lovely.
