An Easy Autumnal Eye Look

It’s started to feel decidedly Autumnal, and this makes me very happy. I love warm-toned shadows all year round, but now it’s more ~fall~ I’m embracing even more burgundy tones. Featuring lots of liner and mascara, obviously, and an alternative to the naked heat palette, I’m all about this easy Autumnal eye look.

My palette pick

I am on the naked heat palette hype, don’t get me wrong, but I am also too fickle to commit to one palette. This one from Juvia’s Place is another beautiful pick and has twelve buttery shades. I know this brand has been so hyped on social media, but I am very impressed from what I’ve tried. There are four mattes (love a good matte shadow!) and then eight shimmery shades. This is definitely one of those social-friendly palettes in that it makes looks that just screams instagram MUA… I would say that the packaging is cheap for the price – it’s bright and eye-catching but the cardboard is not my favourite.

In terms of the shades, I tend to use the top left camel shade all over the lid and then under the lash line. It acts as a great base and the shade reminds me of a bronzer. I do apply on top of the too faced shadow insurance primer, which is the best around in my opinion. It makes sure that shadow doesn’t crease or fade. Then I use either the bronze or the red shade all over the lid and finish off with one of the darker matte shades. It takes a maximum of five minutes, and looks like I’ve put more effort in. Warm-toned shadows always look more complex – just take a mac 224 brush, blend the edges and you’re good.

The rest of the rest

In terms of mascara and liner, I’m just obsessed with the Clarins Graphik (full post here) and the L’oreal lash paradise (full post here). When I’m in a rush, I just apply two coats of the mascara as fast as possible. I use the liquid liner in the very outer corner of my eyes to give it a tiny flick. Winged liner is never easy, and it’s me chickening out, really!
