An Everyday Makeup Look

It’s time to be stuck in another makeup rut – I’m a creature of habit and reach for the same makeup. It’s definitely predictable, but I go into a makeup auto-pilot & end up looking the same most mornings. Equally predictable is that my makeup jam is all about a flawless base, a warm-toned shadow and a peachy nude lip…

The makeup mix

I’m currently in the midst of a love affair with the Dior Forever foundation – it’s just lovely. Dior does such good makeup, and this base is definitely one to check out if you’re looking for a long-wear foundation. I find it blends easily, has impressive coverage and does sit beautifully on the skin. I dabble with lighter bases, but I just prefer my skin when it’s got some full coverage action going on. If you want to see more about it, check this post! Going nicely alongside the foundation is the It Cosmetics bye bye undereye concealer; the most brightening concealer of all time. I find this one to lighten up the under eyes like nothing else – I always need something illuminating for the early mornings. What can I say, I don’t get enough sleep and need to rely on good makeup… This (along with an espresso or two) helps make me look more awake in a flash.

Eye wise, I’m still very much crushing on the Naked Heat palette. I just can’t stop myself using it, because it’s sensational. The shades are all lovely to use, and this really is my dream palette! The shades cover everything I ever wear on my eyes, and I can’t put it down. You can see some swatches of it on my eyes in this post, but Dirty Talk, He Devil and Scorched are my most used. Along with a warm smokey eye, I am enjoying lots and lots of black liquid liner. The thickness of the line depends on how shaky my hands are at the time of application; it normally ends up a little thicker than originally planned… This Clarins liner is really easy to use, and the felt tip style nib does make it really easy to do the sort of corner-flick that I’m after.

Finally, I am absolutely loving the new liquid lipsticks from Charlotte Tilbury. They’re so comfortable to wear, and they’re a great pick to wear throughout the day. I did a full post here, but Rising Star has been the shade I’ve been gravitating towards. Tilbs can do no wrong in my opinion, and her new launch is another winner.
