Tom Ford Does Single Shadows

No one does luxury quite like Tom Ford, and so when I saw that he had launched his own edit of single shadow… Well, they spoke to me. I have a lot of palettes, so I do find something appealing about having a single shadow. Simplistic for a one-wash of colour all over the lid and undeniably chic.

Iris Bronze

I went for the shade Iris Bronze, which is a satin finish meaning it’s little sheeny but not sparkly. The formula on Tom Ford shadows is such a dream, and such a pleasure to use. Their quads are some of the fanciest makeup buys around, and well worth checking out. They blend easily, and they’re nicely pigmented without having too much fallout. I mean it’s a shadow so it’s not going to change your life but if you’re into your eye makeup, then it’s a formula definitely worth investigating. Perfect for those mornings when you want to feel fancy… The shade itself is a mid-tone chocolate brown, that leans a little warm – definitely a step down from some of the orange shadows I love in terms of wearability.

Streamlined Shadows

I spoke about the idea of streamlining your skincare post this year right here, and I think that one of the beauty trends for 2018 is going to be less is more when it comes to makeup. Instead of a mass collection of multi-coloured palettes, a handful of single shadows that get a lot of wear seem to be the way things are going. I’ve also seen some lovely single shadows from Chanel and Bobbi Brown, and then there’s the Stila glitter shadows I’m obsessed with. Speaking of streamlining, I am overdue a big makeup clearing session, which is one of my tasks for the following week! Makeup storage is so very pleasing when it’s all tidy…
