There’s so much to do when it comes to blogging that sometimes… it’s nice to do nothing. I’m talking about being unproductive in the best way. Not just watching Taylor’s new video (oops), but spending some quality time recharging.
Get lost in a good book. I tweeted about wanting some new reads and twitter delivered! Currently on my reading list are the new books by Philippa Gregory and Alison Weir. I love historical fiction, and it’s the nicest thing in the world when you can curl up and spend an afternoon reading.
Have a bubble bath, do a face mask and indulge in some serious self care. Taking time for yourself is always so important and it’s a step often neglected… I’m currently testing out some new body beauty bits including scrubs and masks so it’s the perfect opportunity to take some time just for me!
Go out and go for a walk. Going for a walk is one of those instances where you always feel so much better after doing it! We went for a walk around Primrose Hill on Saturday and I felt so much more positive afterwards. Having an extra day like today is an even better excuse to spend the day outside enjoying some nature.
Have a sort out. I’m not saying to fully commit and have a big tidying session (sos), but sorting through things like your bookshelf or your dressing table can be nicely therapeutic. It’s also scientifically proven to be more relaxing when your surroundings are all tidy and clean. I’m thinking clean sheets and a candle burning in a clutter-free zone is good for the soul.
Catch up on Netflix. So today involves watching the final episode of Game of Thrones and then watching the rest of 13 reasons why… I’m not being particularly groundbreaking but curling up on the sofa and zoning out in front of some good tv seems like a good way to spend a few hours. If you want some recommendations, I would say House of Cards, Salem, Reign, The Tudors, Louis Theroux, Jane the Virgin… all good starting points.
