I think by now, we’ve all heard of Glossier. It’s a game changer in the beauty world, and they’re certainly creating quite the storm. It’s super refreshing because the brand has an interesting backstory and excellent products; quite the accomplishment. Having tried quite a few of their products, I’m sharing an edit ahead of their imminent UK launch (they have stock in the UK right now!!).
The star of the show is definitely the skincare. It’s the whole philosophy of the brand, focusing on minimalistic beauty and clean, glowing skin. First up is their milky jelly cleanser, which is your basic no-frills cleanser. It’s not especially exciting or a sensory overload but it’s a very good cleanser. The cornerstone of any skincare routine! I can see it working for any skin type, and it’s the perfect introduction to the brand. Other skincare picks include the priming moisturiser, which is a hydrating and soothing day cream that preps skin for makeup. It also comes in a richer formula, which I think I need to grab for winter. Then there is the balm dotcom (full post here), which is probably my favourite ever lipbalm. It comes in the original, unscented formula and in a whole plethora of fun ones, too. Next on my hit-list are the serums, masks and the refreshing mist.
Makeup wise, it’s all about the off-duty look. Their matte lipsticks are super natural (this one modelled by Helen Mirren looks so sassy) and easy to wear. They’re definitely not the most pigmented formula, but the bolder shades do look like they pack a punch. It’s a really lightweight finish, so a good one to pick if you don’t like the texture of traditional matte lipsticks. Their cream cloud paint blushers are very nice to use, and foolproof. I have the peachy shade, but I’ve seen on their social channels how easy it is to mix and match them to create a custom flush. I’m trying out Haloscope, a highlighter-moisturiser hybrid. There’s still loads of makeup pieces I have my eyes on (looking at you, stretch concealer), but these ones are all a good place to start! I love the look of the lipgloss and the wowder, too.
Finally, they’ve just launched their newest campaign; Body Hero. Featuring some of the very best campaign imagery I’ve ever seen, it’s a shower oil and a moisturiser. The women all look beyond beautiful and I need to try asap. It sounds basic, but it’s undoubtedly set to become a bathroom staple for everyone who tried it.
