I thought checking in with a few things was long overdue; sharing lifestyle snippets on the blog is not something I do too often, but I like sharing a few of the things going on behind the scenes.
So, September! I’ve managed to read a lot of books, which is always good. I saw IT and Mother! at the cinema (IT is good), after avoiding the cinema for an age. I saw Bianca Del Rio, Katya, Alyssa Edwards, Lady Bunny and more live, which was obviously amazing. I went to a few events, had a few dinners out with friends, worked a lot and last night I saw Suzanne Vega perform in Soho. All in all, a long but good month! October is all about our anniversary, Venice and Halloween!
I’m off to Leeds today. I’m really excited to see all of the blogging babes at the #bloggersblogawards, and also nervous because I’m up for best beauty blog! I must be dedicated because I had to get up at 7am and travel 200 miles. I ended up panic-asos shopping at 11.30pm and at least one of the outfits turned out OK so here’s hoping I don’t change my mind… Speaking of other blogging bits, I’m in #TheBlogRace still, and you can check my entry for this week here. Fingers crossed I make it to week 4.
I had some photos taken by Kaye. I know, this is not a huge deal because hello, yes, I am a blogger and so photos are the norm. That said, having an actual skilled photographer take photos of me was nerve-wracking and I am so pleased that I managed to not be too scared and also was happy with the photos. 100% recommend Kaye if you’re an awkward person who doesn’t know what to do with their arms as soon as there’s a camera around… like me. We took the photos at Leadenhall market, which is maybe my new favourite haunt in London. Mostly because it’s like your own personal Diagon alley.
Having the photos taken has left me feeling inspired to create a wider variety of content. Beauty is, and always will be, the focus of my blog but it’s nice adding in a little lifestyle element. I’m not a fashion blogger (I’m writing this in my pyjamas), but if some more fashion-based content is something you’d want to see, then let me know! I’m also up for doing some more London-based snippets, or maybe some more travel bits as well. I guess that blogging is fluid, so the idea of changing is always inspiring.
Lastly, I’m off to Venice soon! Keep an eye on my Instagram because I’m sure I’ll be posting non-stop all of the pretty buildings and I can hopefully convince Chris to be my Instagram photographer. We’ll see. It’s an anniversary trip, and I still can’t really believe that it’s been a whole year since we got married! Time flies…
What have you been up to lately?
