There are few things that set my heart racing faster than a dreamy new candle to burn… It’s a whole relaxing ritual, and the best of the best comes from Diptyque. When I saw their new Rose Delight launch in store, it was pretty much a done deal. A new candle is the perfect present for me, from me to burn whilst I work from home, and it has the prettiest pastel pink packaging ever!
The packaging is beyond dreamy, and it’s definitely one of those jars that I’ll keep forever (new makeup brush pot in the making). The imagery is all inspired by a Middle Eastern version of French toile de Jouy, making it suitably bougie. It’s the little details as well, like the wick being pastel pink too. I definitely could have bought it just for the packaging (I can’t bring myself to burn it yet!) but luckily it smells incredible too.
It smells like roses, shockingly. It’s much more of a turkish delight sweet scent than anything too floral or musky. It has the petal-freshness of the roses with honey to make it sweeter and then there’s some lemon in there to make the whole candle have this zesty-ness. It’s so fragrant, it doesn’t even have to be burning to make my whole flat smell like sweet roses.
Compared to the other candles in the Diptyque range, it’s defintely a softer and sweeter scent – the regular red roses is a lot sharper than this whereas Baies is a lot fruitier.
It definitely falls into the luxury treat category, but it’s just perfect if you’re looking for a pick-me-up or want an excuse to add a really girly piece of decor to your house! Also worth dropping a hint for any potential Valentine’s day presents…
