I love makeup. Case in point being this blog, where I’ve spoken about my favourite lipsticks for years now. I try a lot of it (someone has to), bit I have some absolute favourites that I go back to time and time again. The ride or die favourites, and my most used makeup that deserves plenty of recognition.
My beloved Charlotte Tilbury bronze and glow is looking particularly battered at the moment. I’m both proud of how much I’ve used it and also disheartened at how messy it looks now. I use the bronze shade pretty much all over the face but especially as a contour shade through the cheeks, jawline and lid. Then the highlighter shade is dusted all over the tops of the cheeks. I’m eyeing up the new bronze/blush duo but I do like this one so much that I might just have to repurchase…
You’re making me blush
It also goes perfectly with one of my most-reached for blushers, the Glossier cloud paint in beam. It’s teeny tiny so it often gets chucked into my makeup bag, and the shade is just an absolute dream. It can be blended into the skin so quickly using the finger tips, which is a winner for rushed mornings. The shade of this one is a suits-all brightening peachy shade that goes with all of my go-to makeup looks.
For an everyday primer, I love The Ordinary’s high-spreadability fluid primer for the t-zone. I’ve gone through two bottles of it so far. I find it does a great job at creating a smooth canvas for foundation. My bottle is looking a little grubby, which is definitely a testament to how well-loved it is. You really can’t beat the price, either!
Yup, I’m talking about the Stila glitters again! See more here. This one, kitten karma, is one I grab a lot because it’s a champagne shimmer that makes eyes look bigger & brighter. I promise I’m not being paid to talk about them (although I’m up for it, Stila) but they’re just one of the best makeup discoveries ever.
Finishing off is Nars Anita, which I have in snazzy gold packaging. Ah, the formula on these audacious lipsticks is honestly so lovely. A really classic lipstick. It’s creamy, pigmented and comfortable to wear. This shade would flatter a lot of different skin tones, and this is pretty much the perfect everyday hue. It’s a medium rose that manages to make the lips poutier without ever looking overdone.
