As my bank balance can testify, I try a lot of new beauty products. I'm just really good at justifying any sort of purchase because it'll work for the blog. Also, I love beauty. Running a beauty blog for 6 years has very much cemented that! Back to the justifying, I have three new products on trial that I have been putting through their paces. Enjoy a snappy first impressions and initial thoughts for three of the most exciting things on my desk right now.
Glossier Lash Slick Mascara
Every time Glossier has a new launch, the internet sort of explodes. They know how to do their marketing very well. Despite the fact I am much more a fan of dramatic mascaras, I picked up a tube. Yup, I know. I was particularly interested in this because it's a tubing formula. Tubing formulas are pretty fab for not smudging and they're easy to remove with warm water. Definitely one for sensitive eyes or those prone to hay fever because once it's on it's on.
This is, obviously, a subtle mascara. I'm wearing two coats in the photos below, so you can see how it's a little whisper of fluttery lashes rather than a big shout. I am sort of in love with it a bit, though. It's great for everyday, and it's easy to apply and not smudge all over lashes. This is not a false-lash mascara at all, but a fluttery enhancement of your natural lashes.
There is a new brand that I am so sure is going to be taking pride of place in everyone's shelfies very shortly. Ra Oils is an Icelandic brand that's recently launched in the UK. They're big on their oils, and the packaging is pleasingly minimalistic. The skin rescue oil is one I've been using nightly for the past fortnight as the last step in my skincare routine. It has evening primrose oil, argan oil, vitamin E and more which all soften the skin very nicely. Perfect for dry or stressed skin.
BECCA Ultimate Coverage Foundation
Um, guys. This is technically not a new purchase because I used it a few years ago and then sort of... forgot about it. It's been repackaged, had some new shade additions and now it lasts a full 24-hours on the skin. This foundation is seriously nice though! If you, like me, enjoy having full coverage and having skin look like it's been filtered, then this one is well worth checking out. It's seriously creamy and thick (it's a cream-base), so taking one pump and then swiftly blending it in with a damp beauty blender is the way to go.
