This summer I'm saying see-ya to thirsty skin. Like having a big drink of water, I'm turning towards products that all maximise hydration for the skin. Good for dry, dehydrated, oily and combination skins - hydration is for all. Plus, slapping it all on the skin feels so much easier than maintaining a virtuous lifestyle. Sticking to these Hydrating Heroes means skin will be feeling fab.
I've been a big fan of Clarins, and their Hydra-Essentiels line, for a while so these two new additions are very welcome. The moisturising reviving eye mask is going to be a must-have for anyone else who suffers from permanently dry under-eyes. It's an intensive mask you can apply to transform and treat the area (or you can use like a night-cream for extra-hydration). It's got a lovely soothing cream-gel texture, and it makes such a noticeable difference to fine lines and generally tired & dehydrated skin. The moisture replenishing lip balm is fabulous for those who are in need of a serious moisture-boost. It's much more of a liquid/serum texture than anything too balmy and so it manages to restore the lips rather than just coating them to protect.
Also worth mentioning is their fabulous booster - repair (mine is currently empty and needs to be repurchased but I needed it for this photo!). It's a fabulous little booster that's designed to have a drop or two mixed in with your daily skincare. Works wonderfully when skin is a little irritated, too.
L'occitane Aqua Reotier
An entire range from my favourite French brand designed to give skin ultimate hydration. It's all packed with hyaluronic acid, glycerin and lots of water to quench skin's thirst. The moisture prep essence is a particularly welcome step pre-moisturiser to really nourish. You can pat it in with hands, and skin feels visibly more hydrated immediately. It goes nicely with the thirst-quenching cream. It plumps the skin without feeling heavy or sticky in the slightest.
Herbivore Rose Hibiscus Mist
OK, so I am definitely a little obsessed with Herbivore. Be warned! You can read more on my thoughts about the US brand here. The coconut water hydrating face mist feels lovely and light on the skin - it's great as a toner or makeup refresher. For me, I find it works best sandwiched between your layers of products. As in, cleanse - mist - essence - mist - serum - mist - moisturise - mist. It leaves skin feeling supremely soft and bouncy. Plus, bonus points for it looking fabulous on your bathroom shelf.
