Wedding season is here... I couldn't be more excited. Weddings are the best. All of the love, all of the laughter and an excuse to get dressed up and party. What's not to like? I ticked the first wedding of the year off my list on Monday, and an excuse to chat all things makeup is always fine with me. Yup, it's all about Wedding Guest Makeup and what to use to minimise touch-ups.
Extend the base
Weddings are lovely, but they are also long. As in, you'll be there all day and well into the night so picking a base that lasts is key. I am loving the Max Factor face finitiy primer for extending the longevity of any subsequent base - it's light and non-greasy, and has a slightly tacky finish that foundation clings to. On top of that, I wore the Urban Decay all nighter foundation which is hardy stuff - once it's set, it doesn't tend to move. Look for anything with longwear in the title for an all day finish - I also really like mac's pro longwear foundation and bobbi brown for a slightly more natural finish. I also went for powder and setting spray, with the aim of wanting to look glowing but also for my face not to move the whole day. Applying everything with a beauty blender is my top tip for a seamless finish.
Go for glitter
Um, yeah. I love glitter and will wear it for absolutely anything but especially a wedding. I went for my trusty Stila magnificent metals shadow (in Bronzed Bell) all over the lid and then under my lashes, too. It doesn't go anywhere, and it catches the light really nicely in photos. If you're not big into glitter like me, something shimmery on the lid is still a nice touch without being too overt. Pick a cream shadow stick and set with your favourite shadow for some serious staying power.
