As much fun as it is putting makeup on, it’s even better to take it all off. At the end of a long day, when you’ve been running around all day there is something so pleasing about taking the time to clean your face. A few moments just for you, and your skin. It’s even better when I haven’t left the house or worn makeup at all, so I can whack on a face mask and crawl into bed. For everyday though, I’m running through my Evening Skincare Routine.
Taking it all off
The star of my Evening Skincare Routine is the Klorane Floral Water make-up remover, from Escentual. A massive bottle that sits proudly on my bathroom shelf. It has a pump! All make-up removers should come with a pump. The super gentle formula is also fabulous for melting away all scraps of makeup with minimal effort. As I’ve been wearing tubing mascaras lately, I tend to take a warm flannel to get rid of the lashes and then soak two cotton pads in this and wipe everything off. Quick and easy. Then for actual skin cleansing I’m currently using the Clarins melting gel cleanser, which is pretty heavenly to massage into the skin. I’ve been through a couple of them, and would always go back as it’s so perfect for a no-fuss cleanse that effectively cleans the skin without stripping.
After that, it really depends on how my skin feels but I do tend to use the Ren glycolic toner on a cotton pad wept over the face. It smells divine, and feels very gentle but makes sure dry skin is a thing of the past. I mentioned it here in more detail. Then I’ve been using a spritz of a hydrating mist (herbivore or bybi) before massaging in the Herbivore moon fruit treatment (mentioned here). It is glorious. If I don’t use that, then I spend five minutes massaging an oil into the skin before hitting the hay. Favourites include Pai and Skin & Tonic.
