Ah, cleansers. I think I could specialise in just writing about cleansers because I love them that much. They make such an instant difference to the skin, and their skincare claims always get me. Yes, they’re typically on the skin for around a minute before they’re washed off but the right one can make all the difference. Today I’m running through the Best Cleansing Creams for all skin types and concerns because… I always need another cleanser.
Pai Camellia & Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser
This has to be one of my favourite cleansers, ever. I’ve been through multiple bottles of the stuff, and I just find myself going back to it all the time. I always go back to it because it’s so gentle that it can be used any time without irritating the skin. I tend to use it as either a second cleanse in the evening or as my morning face wash. It’s not amazing at washing away every scrap of makeup so it’s best used in conjunction with something that can melt makeup away.
Best for… Cleansing sensitive skins or those looking to embrace more natural skincare.
Alpha H Liquid Gold Resurfacing Cleansing Cream
Alpha H is definitely known for their liquid gold toner, which is one of the more potent treatments on the market. I’ve used it for years, and I love it for managing to make skin feel brighter overnight. The new cleansing cream has lime pearl, rich in AHA, which helps to get rid of dryness and dead skin from the surface of the skin. It also has lactic acid & citric acid as well as shea butter to help skin have a better moisture barrier. Probably not ideal for oilier skins. I’d say this would be best for those looking to up their skincare ante (maybe in conjunction with retinol)!
Best for… Those wanting to have a serious brightening boost
Omorovicza Cashmere Cleanser
This is very new to my skincare stash but earned a mention because Omorovicza cleansers are the best around. They also have a moor cream cleanser, thermal cleansing balm and melting gel cleaner which are all dreamy. Some brands just excel in certain categories, and although Omorovicza is great all round, their cleansers really shine. The new cashmere cleanser is super soft & indulgent on the skin; it’s definitely a luxury skincare addition. Too decadent to be rushed in the morning, it’s great for giving skin a little pamper in the evening. It smells like a spa, and leaves skin soft.
Best for… Those looking to soften and nourish their skin daily
Lixir Electrogel Cleanser
This is the cleanser I reach for if I’ve been in town all day to be used a first cleanse; the formula has a ‘negatively charged electrogel’ which attracts pollutants so they can easily be washed away. I mean, yes there’s a lot of marketing bumf there but the scientific formulation appeals to my inner chemist. Things like pollution, free radicals and city grime all do have a positive charge so it follows the negatively charged would magnetise them together. It smells gorgeous – geranium, sage, rosemary and chamomile all make it smell suitably spa-like.
Best for… City skin and getting rid of pollution and grime
