It’s safe to say at this point that my love for the IT Cosmetics CC cream is pretty well documented. I wear it most days, rave about it often and make all of my friends buy it. I’ve been through two tubes of the original formula and it’s come a long way. Earlier this year we had the glowier version (reviewed here) and now we have the IT Cosmetics CC Cream Oil-Free. For glowing skin without the grease. I’m not usually one for picking matte but when it’s IT, I pay attention.

your one step to a natural-looking matte finish

The CC Cream Gang
Yup, I’m definitely well-versed in all things IT Cosmetics CC cream. See how used and abused the original one is? I wear shade Fair in all formulas. I think having the broad spectrum of finishes just makes such sense for the brand as it caters for all skin types (but IT, please cater for more skin tones!). The original is plump & juicy skin in a bottle, the illumination version is that plus extra sheen and now the matte incarnation promises to look uber natural but with an oil-free finish. Great for longevity, or for nights out when you want your base to stick around.
IT Cosmetics CC Cream Oil-Free Formula

So, the actual formula. It’s noticeably thicker than the other two, and feels so much more solid right away. It’s still definitely a liquid in formula, but it’s a whole different ball game when compared to its glowy sisters. Also meaning it’s a little tricker to blend in smoothly, although I imagine this will be great for those concerned about concealing pores. I found a buffing brush worked best. Once on the skin, it doesn’t feel any heavier but the matte finish is there. I’m not talking double wear levels of matte, but I didn’t need to powder anything afterwards so the oil-control is 100% working. I think this might be the least detectable on the skin out of all three, as it just looks so seamless and exactly like how skin looks sans highlighter.

Absolutely ideal for wearing to work/meetings/weekends (and it has SPF 40). In the above snap I’m just wearing IT alone, with the illumination under eye concealer so you can see the unadulterated finish. It makes everything look pretty even and smooth, and not a speck of sparkle in sight. It hangs around all day on me although I think it can look a little dry around my especially dehydrated areas after prolonged wear. This would be thanks to the oil-zapping ingredients; clay to absorb shine, charcoal to ‘detoxify’ and tea tree to soothe any blemishes. The clay inclusion is a lot less drying than other foundations I’ve tried, but it is worth noting for those with seriously dry skin.
