If there’s something I can’t get enough of, it has to be… chocolate. Delicious when eaten, guilt-free, whenever you want but also especially lovely in skincare. Either cacao, for its antioxidant properties or cocoa butter, for its nourishing qualities. Either way, it’s a treat to add into your skincare mix.
Evolve Radiant Glow Mask
This is as chocolate-y as beauty can come, really. A delicious little pot of face mask that is all natural and helps everything to look radiant. I know, sounds too good to be true! It looks like a ‘proper’ mask whilst on, too. It’s made mostly from raw cacao powder, which has lots of antioxidants to look after the skin. Clay purifies the skin, coconut granules gently exfoliates, sugar extracts make the mask have a milky texture so it rinses off easily and it smells like vanilla. Evolve as a natural brand really stands out to me – I love their labels on the packaging, they remind me of apothecary labels. The whole brand is made in small batches in the UK, and I would basically highly recommend.
Eve Lom Cleanser
The cult cleanser that launched a thousand other cleansing balms. This deserves all the hype it gets purely for the fact that it encouraged everyone to start properly cleansing with a flannel and water, rather than splashing off. This definitely isn’t as ‘clean’ as I like my skincare to ideally be but there is no denying that this is a cult classic. The only issue is that is does contain mineral oil but I don’t mind this as much in cleansers because they wash off, y’know. It’s not on the skin for too long. As far as cleansers go, this is nice and luxurious on the skin – packed with cocoa butter, too, to feel all cushiony on the skin. Strongly scented, but I still remain impressed by one of the OG cleansers.
Bodhi & Birch Cacao Cocoon Lip Treatment
If you were ever tempted to actually eat your lip balm because it smelt so good… I don’t blame you. If you’re going to eat it, it might as well be a delicious balm like this one from Bodhi & Birch. I love this brand – also mentioned here! Made from cacao, and this is definitely more of a skincare treatment than your everyday lip balm. It comes packaged in a cute little box and the jar itself is very heavy – it’s currently sitting proudly on my dressing table. Very luxurious and definitely an indulgence. It’s buttery in texture, with murumuru butters, illipe butter and sea buckthorn oil.
