Ever fall in love with a brand? Hard? My latest obsession is the achingly chic Danish brand Kjaer Weis, who manage to bridge the gap effortlessly between natural and luxe. I’ve been working my way through the link to play around with different products, and I just had to share…
Champions of reusable and sustainable beauty…
Who are Kjaer Weis?
So this was a brand I had seen online a few times before I delved properly in. The packaging is so distinctly different to the majority of brands, and looks undeniably expensive and premium. Kjaer Weis (pronounced keer whys) is also one of the leading organic & natural beauty brands, that has been championing reusable and sustainable beauty before it became one of the hot conversation topics of right now. Every product is designed to be refillable, so the initial cost of the product is slighter higher but then everything comes with the refills – from the blushes to the mascara.
The brand was founded by Kirsten Kjaer Weis, a Danish makeup artist, after she struggled to find natural makeup products that compared to brands filled with synthetics. So she designed her own, from the sustainable packaging, the recyclable outer cardboard boxes and the mostly organic, kind-to-skin formulations. I would compare the brand to Charlotte Tilbury, with a more natural approach. Equally luxurious and covetable.

What kickstarted the entire obsession with Kjaer Weis? The cream blush. A silky soft texture that feels incredibly creamy upon application, that still manages to be pigmented and long-lasting. I just lightly dab some on my fingers and pat into the skin. A little bit goes a long way, but it blends in nicely with the warmth of fingers. The formula is pretty much the holy grail of cream blush and is a (mostly organic) souped-up version of all the cream blushes I loved before… Stila, Kevyn Aucoin and Bobbi Brown. Ingredients wise, it’s really hydrating and just looks juicy on the skin; that’d be the castor seed oil, beeswax and jojoba seed oil that all nourish the skin whilst you wear it.
The Lipstick in Love – link
Lipstick is the way to my heart, and I am hereby honouring this as my red lip of 2019. Early days, yes, but this is the perfect coral-red to add some warmth to the skin (a natural version of Lady Danger). Let’s just talk about the metal packaging that is definitely going to take pride of place in your makeup bag… It’s beautiful! This formula in particular is 99% natural, allowing for artificial pigments making up the 1% making the shade so bright. The texture is mostly satin-matte in that it’s soft and easy to apply but has some serious longevity & it dries down to a soft matte finish.
The Cream Shadow in Alluring – link
Cream shadows are pretty great for summer as a one-wash of colour just dabbed on with the fingers. Especially a bronze – just pair this with a bronzer and red lipstick for your summer makeup vibe. This formula is pretty moveable in that it will crease and look a little lived-in. Definitely not a bad thing, but worth noting if you hate any sort of lid creasing or have oily skin. I really don’t mind because the sheen of it is so pretty and eye-catching.
The Lip Tint in Sweetness – link
This is the perfect pop in your pocket and go product – it’s compact, best applied with fingers and the reflective packaging acts as a built-in mirror. It’s got more tint in it than a classic balm, but feels very hydrating on the lips and leaves a noticeable flush on the lips. This shade in particular is sort of like you’ve had an ice lolly – that kind of flush. Containing jojoba oil to hydrate, it’s definitely a balm and colour hybrid, with the skincare benefits plus a tint.
